Glorious cables and lace combine for this fresh take on a classic cabled cardigan. This is the children’s version of the popular adult Fouetté cardigan, and is packed full of details sure to delight.
Every detail has been carefully considered:
-Cables are mirrored for symmetry
-Cables running along the neckline / buttonband
-Cables on the back and the front match at the shoulders
-Smooth transition from the saddle cable to the sleeve cable
-Smooth transition from cables to ribbing
-Double knit buttonband for a refined finish
-Imperceivable shoulder and sleeve cap short rows, seamlessly integrated into the cabling
Construction:
Worked top down seamlessly, with a saddle shoulder construction. The shoulders are shaped with short rows on the front and the back, and the armholes and shoulders are shaped so the shoulders drop in the same place for everyone. The sleeves have a mini sleeve cap and dramatic shaping towards the cuff. It is finished with a double knit buttonband.
While it looks complicated, this test knit was just as smooth as the adult version, and testers found the pattern easy to follow.
Difficulty: Intermediate
This pattern has been professionally tech edited by Hannah Middleton (Works of Our Hands), and has been test knit.
This pattern features bundle pricing with the Fouetté Cardigan or Pullover, both patterns can be purchased for a total of $13. No coupon code is needed. They must both be in your cart for the discount to work.
